Hi

The original neutral switch on my XS1 didn’t work so I swapped it out for a new one, only to find that didn’t work?

When I looked into this, it seems that the little dimple on the shaft in the gearbox has either snapped or is worn so that it doesn’t touch the plunger on the neutral switch

Anyone else ever had this?

Thanks

Ant

Weird situation. I don't see how in the world the nub could snap off, and I can't imagine it wearing down. But I guess anything's possible.
If some of the nub is still there, but not enough to make contact, you could try putting the switch in without its gasket. That would gain you a little length, maybe enough to make contact.

Also, there are longer neutral switches out there that were used in other Yamaha models. Above is an XT500 switch.
