New Cat

Over the last months there's been a stray Tom that's made us a feed and water station and drops by a couple times a day.
The 5 spayed queens tolerate him and he fits in like a sibling. He has run off a nasty feral Tom so I tolerate him.
When he first showed up I noticed he was missing about four inches of tail.
He disappeared for a week or so and when he did resume his scheduled rounds I saw he was missing the most of his right front leg.
There's no touching this cat 'cause he's as feral as they come. No telling what took his wheel.
So far he looks healthy and the loss has hardly slowed him down.

A stray Tom Cat showed up here in Aug. of this year. He doesn`t bother any of the other cats and eats on the porch every day. Likes to be petted but can`t be caught. He disappears at night so he must have a safe place to stay. Probably in the junk shed because there are blankets Spinner used last winter. I think they know once they get here they`ve hit the Jack Pot.

Saturday afternoon Harry was setting on the hood of my truck. I watched him jump down and when he landed he raised his paw and didn`t walk. I ran out to get him and carried him into the house. He couldn`t stand or put pressure on his left front foot at all. Sunday he was no better so first thing Mon. morning it`s off to the Vet. $200 X-Ray`s, $112 office call and $60 worth of antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds and he`s on the mend. Sprained wrist.:yikes: his left paw/leg is still swelled up but not as bad as yesterday. He goes in next week to see if he has to have a splint for 6 weeks.:( It doesn`t matter if I hobble around with no cartilage in both knee`s but when the cat limps it`s full blown panic time.

Spinner is now a full blown "House Cat". She practically has to be thrown outside. I put her outside this morning for about 1/2 hr and she came right back in the minute I opened the door and ran to the basement. I went down a while later and thought I smelled something? It was her. She somehow came into contact with a skunk or something with skunk scent on it and smells terrible. Time for the first bath. This should be cheap entertainment. I`ll try go take a few pics.:yikes:

Grab your welding gloves! Cats + bathtime is how I lost a finger.

Maybe not the thread for it but it is a cat friendly place. We euthanized our sweet boy Blueberry today. He was diagnosed with an infiltrative cancer and was starting to really suffer. Couldn’t make it more than a few feet without lying down to rest. Wasn’t eating or drinking for days. Anyway super sweet guy and a real standup buddy. He was 6 and we were imagining we had another decade together at least. You never know how much time you get with your friends of the fuzzy variety or otherwise. Enjoy those frustrating and lovely creatures as long as you can. RIP Blue.

Lost Otis Bob Monday at 315AM
She was with us for 11years, the last of a blood line that has been with us since 1988.
Swear I still catch her moving around the house out of the corner of my eye.
Some cats are just cats, some cat are really different special.
She was one of those.
Rest easy Otis.

Lost our 17 1/2 year old Tuxedo, Mollie Dec. 21, same day my best 2 legged friend died. Mollie would follow me everywhere I went and I couldn't sit down without her jumping in my lap. She was the sweetest cat.

I`m very sorry for your loss. Saying good by to a family pet is a tough thing to do. I hope you have others to share your love with.

Yeah this exactly. He was one of those guys that follow you down the block, jump in the car when you get home, slept in the crook of your arm. Even at the end he was dragging himself from room to room to be nearby. Really a special guy…imagining you see them in all the usual places is the brutal part.

Ghost cats.
Georgie was a feral female that adopted us and was a member of the family for 21 years. Couldn’t hold her for more than a few seconds and getting petted was strictly on her time and terms.
We took her to be spayed after a litter of kittens and the vet told us to never bring her back as they played hell trying to catch her when she escaped their grasp while prepping her for the surgery.
Towards the end she got to looking like a bad taxidermy mount. I oft told her that when she died I was going to hold her and pet her up for all the missing years. Well, she insisted on going out one cold winter evening and that was that. Never saw her again alive but almost tripped over her one evening in the kitchen and would often catch her out of the corner of me eye. Wife would see her too.
Georgie lived her life and afterlife on her terms…..try catching and petting a ghost cat……

Spinner is addicted to TV. She will sit in front of the TV and watch Cat TV as long as it`s on. When the mouse goes in the hole she goes behind the TV to see if it`s back there. She will also watch regular TV as long as there are people moving around. She does not watch "The View"🤮. Smart cat.
