Thought the garage appropriate for this trial period.
The guides for early adaptors to try and report back on have all been spoken for.
Guides are now available for purchase in the classifieds.

Background
A long time midwest aftermarket XS650 parts vendor has commissioned a new supplier to make Yamaha Part # front stop.
I bought a batch of ten to look at and sell to forum members for Beta testing.
They pass my initial look see comparison with factory guides and a MikesXS guide.
These are made in Taiwan vs. China

Got out some tools and a cylinder, they seem to be dimensionally identical and fit properly, no issues with threads etc. I checked three out of the ten I have. The rubber insert seems to be about the same durometer hardness as the MikesXS part i.e. fingernail dent test. (The mikes guide has been on my shelf for several years.)
Parts look to have been media blasted after manufacture. They have a uniform texture everywhere including in the threaded holes. Bolts threaded in with only slight resistance the first time, subsequent threading, unthreading was easy. Threads looked uniform and well shaped not ragged or deformed.
So here's the deal; we want these to get tested! All the initial batch is sold out Garry Hoos (Hoos Racing) is offering guides for sale in the classifieds. http://www.xs650.com/threads/new-front-guide-stopper.56531/
Some random pics.
Used guides - AFAIK OEM I removed from engines
M - a guide from MikesXS
H - the new guide from Taiwan
Checking true on the threaded holes;

Near as I can tell all the drilled bolt holes are ~ between Y and H. I had previously chased the threads in that Mike's guide with a tap.
The H guides bolted into a used cylinder with no problems.

Hoos racing is now offering these at a very attractive price in the classifieds.

Reports of installs and serviceability are WANTED!

lose some $ on each sale but make it up on volume. gggGary

That’s the same business model that General Motors uses!

I look forward to seeing how these work out. Should be very interesting and if successful, it is a good solution to the one weakness we all seem to have found on the XS650 engine!

OK, OK - let’s not talk about the starter gear #4 and the hair clip.

Hoos Racing Specialties http://www.hoosracing.com/home.html is the US vender that dealt with the factory to get these made. Process took about a year before production parts arrived in the US.
Doing an imported special part takes a lot of time, effort and faith in the final result, not to mention the financial commitment.
6 sold....

Totally agree on the financial commitment point Gary. It is well worth supporting these folks and I sure hope that people do. I am not in the market for timing chain guides, but if I was, I’d give them a try.

I wonder if these folks would take on the starter hair clip and do one that is both thick enough to last and the correct dimension so as to provide reliable starter engagement. If they did that, I would pick up half a dozen just to have some spares.

I'm going to be rebuilding a starter in the very near future myself as I've only got 2 more on parts engines before I have to start raiding running engines.

Pete,
How about you find out who the contact people are in this case, and approach them with your proposal and technical details, as you did in the past with your Canadian supplier ? Many of us members would be very appreciative.

Well, if Gary will send me the contact info, I would certainly do just that.
