hi guys, the bike frame is nickel plated not chrome similar to some of the dirt track frames. the engine in the bike is the # matching 650 with a 750 kit, ported head, sifton cam, special rods, forgetrue pistons, balanced and welded crank, 36mm mikuni carbs and dyna ignition. i have owned this bike since new. the ou72 750 dirt track engine is a very rare one of fifty made by yamaha in the later 70s for dirt track racers like kenny roberts, wayne rainy and lawson. the top end of engine will not interchange with the 650cc engine. valves, rockers, cam and barrel are all different. the valves, cam and pistons are all custom made in the US. the engine also has a welded crank assy. engine uses 38mm mikuni carbs and is said to put out 90hp. thanks for interest. jim

the bike is a 1971 xs1b with a xs2 front disc brake. the engine is the 650cc with a 750 kit. the other engine never came in a stock bike but was made for dirt track racers.
