info 40 odd years of rideing my first big bike was xs650se in 79 and went back to my roots 12 months ago with the US import xs650 special still love these bikes cheers

Yeah when it arrived it was standard but I felt I was sitting on top of the bike I think it comes from rideing chops so Seat had to go ,when she arrived carbs needed sorting ,kickstart spring was damaged one of the plug threads needed reaming out but she kicked over first time still fettling though thanks
That's a beauty, chinny! As for having some fettling to do, show me a forty-year-old anything that doesn't need a little fettling...

Hi again ok the XS650 SF 1979 did it come in a drum rear brake and spoke wheels ,any info or a pic of the model would be great
The SF had mags and disks on both ends. Scroll to the bottom of the Tech section. I think there's some pics there.

Yes ! A 79 Special II , Aluminum rims, spoked.. You have that now?

Yep just done some more checking XS650 special 2FMO just started checking it over carbs first ! Always wanted a spoked model happy days
