Hi everyone, I bought my first bike Yamaha vstar 650 2005or6 cheapaf as it had harness cut and removed, I have key and it’s not stolen. there is no fuel pump(guy said he ran it that way) no clutch switch as well, he said bike ran fine before he removed the harness and then he lost interest, I am mechanically minded, but for the life of me I cant figure out how to wire it just to get the bike running(I can attach pics later), bike doesn’t have the kill switch and starter button on handle. I have gone through heaps of diagrams, and tried to wire it basic to get running but no luck, I know the engine is fine, battery is good, starter is good,I have the starter relay, and I have the CDI and plugs to coils but there are so many wires on diagram and they intertwine and cross attach and stuff, I’m sure this is a simple wiring install but I haven’t had any luck, just to get the bike running and then il figure out the lights and stuff.

I’m in north Brisbane and new to road bikes, first time here posting, just looking for help atm as I’m stuck,

Thanks

Your bike will have fuel injection, electronic ignition and an ECM. You will need to find a diagram to suit your bike. A simplified loom may not b to easy.
Aussie models will b different to US models as well. Often our bikes here and Euro models are the same when looking for a wiring diagram
In fact for a custom build probably just as well to use a DIY engine management solution like Speeduino or similar with stock sensors, fuel pump, TPS, injectors etc. I agree, rewiring a stock system with any degree of simplification isn't going to be easy at all.
