my original dip stick looks like a rat has had a chew on it i went on flea bay and found a cap that said it would fit its a m27x3 alloy cap only thing its $60 bucks Australian so i looked up a m27x3 oil filler cap as a generic cap and found one for $50 bucks waited for a month to be delivered from the USA and low and behold it doesn't fit its way to small . can some one please tell me what size its meant to be and does anyone know where i can get one the correct size . man another $50 wasted not happy thanks triumph68

I just went out there and measured mine, and I gotta tell you,

That is one wierd a$$ thread size.

The thread on the dipstick works out to about M29.5 x 3.1
The English equivalent of that would be about 1-5/32" - 8tpi

The dipstick does fit loose/sloppy in the engine case, and my best measurements of the case threads make them about M30 x 3.1.

In English, that would be close to 1-3/16" - 8tpi.

I suppose a dipstick made for a loose fit into M30 x 3.0 (or 1-3/16" - 8tpi) threads would work fine...

thanks men for always sharing your knowledge to novices like me its makes it so much easier for us that are technically challenged. ie {not the sharpest tool in the shed } thanks again triumph68
