Whats happening here?...Bummer
Gawd..Its up to £2500 now, 17 bids.. I just dont get it..I struggled to get £1500 for a better one than that 12 months ago..Reckon his mates are bidding it up for him...
I knew theyd be worth money one day too, had dozens in my garage/shed once, my problem is everytime I need to spend money on the house/family/cars etc its usually an XS that has to go to to finance it...My line of work doesnt bring much in much dosh, just enough to pay the bills & a few drinks..
Same happened in the 80'/early 90's when I sold of my British bikes ..
Im desperately trying to hang on to what XS's I have left, Ive really got to stop looking at Ebay, its to bloody depressing knowing Im missing out on buying/selling XS's..
- know what you mean...i spent years bumbling round the world working in mines and rigs, earning heaps with low costs, collected property and bikes like a teenager and pimples...now im married with young kids, stuck at home, and the wife, totally missing the point, says what do you need so many bikes for, how many do you think you can ride...wanted me to sell the commando i sat my drivers license on just so she could go sit in the sun for a few days
Reckon I should sell my standard '77 to buy two cheap (XS) restoration jobs, then chop 'em, they fetch more here chopped than they do standard!
Im about to hardtail my '75 (see avatar ,left)this spring to keep, Im regressing , as I get older I prefer non-standard !
...Waste of time me storing 'em as I probably wont be around to benefit from the investment omg 2... Look at this ! Ebay 160409707355
^ ha! Do what they all do and either sell it on craigslist as an "almost finished chopper" or just leave in the corner of the garage for a couple of years until you finally list it on craigslist as an "almost finished chopper" "just needs the hardtail welded on and wiring" they say....
Lol .. Not my first, but perhaps the 51'st.. Its just that Im sick of putting them all back to standard 'cause Ive been worried about 'de-valuing ' them.. I just not enjoying them standard anymore . I remember selling my first one back in late '78 'cause it cost me a packet new (£720 ! ) and I darent hack it about for that reason.
Just figured maybe if theres some suckers out there willing to fork out £2500 for a stocker I might as well take advantage of their better financial position
Yeah Travis, I see that a lot in our classifieds in the UK !
