The beginnig; Allison knows a guy, who knows a gal "with a Triumph in a shed"she just wants it gone. Allison does not tell me right away, cuz well, you know how wives are:unsure:. But she gets a kick out my MC adventures too, so she finally spills the beans (with stated reservations), prolly didn't hurt that I had her out for dinner. .
After some phone tag I get the "bike in the shed" phone number.
Second try, she puts her husband on the line, (darn was hoping he was deceased, know what i mean?) But hey there is a bike, an old Triumph,
73 Trident Classic, has been in a locked storage garage for "30 years".
They'd had a flat tire "at a stop sign" while riding two up, trailered it home, replaced the tire, but it scared him off riding. The bike went into the shed, where it's sat untouched til now. "Not sure if the tire is still good" LOL. Title, some repair books, no doubt a sissy bar and the cardboard box of parts, No price in mind, he took my number and will give me a call when his son finds the key to the storage shed. I mentioned I have a battery powered angle grinder.
He knows he'll never get r going or ride it and is open to my taking a look.
And that's what I know so far.

Pic of one that's been restored.

Out of curiousity I did a nationwide Craigslist search for Tridents, and was surprised by the results. I forgot how many times Triumph resurrected that name for different bikes.

thnx for the pricing guides guyz!
keep em coming!
he texted back, will go down and take a look "sometime this week" on his schedule.
"I have other items I'd like to sell" IE he wants to get rid of the storage rental fee.

Good luck I always liked the Tridents.
In my youth I was very keen on buying a 1975 Trident. I had one lined up but in the end said no. The deal breaker was that it had been in a crash someone had fitted an XS 650 front end. To the seller's credit he did tell me . As I write this I am thinking of the irony as I am a bigger fan of XS's now than I ever was of Triumphs and it would not deter me at all. It would adjust the price however.
