A guy on the trident group just posted he got a nice 73 and a parts bike from under a garage wood floor! in san Fransisco for $375 shrug.
Sellers remorse, don’t adjust your course. You got a fair shot to obtain the bike and agreed a price, job done. So the son can go do one IMHO. I the words of Dads Army “They don’t like it up ‘em”.JUST got a call from the seller.......... rut roh.
She's having sellers remorse...
The son says I can't believe you let it go so cheap.
I did the whole; restoration will cost more than it's worth, Tridents are not hot on the market etc.
I think I'm an A-hole in her eyes now oh well.
PS The same son who knew where it's been sitting forever and prolly coulda had it for free....
LOL may be a bit more drama.
... "Pound sand" strikes me as an appropriate response, not to the seller but to the seller's son who made no apparent effort to deal with the sale of the bike and then criticized Mom for her efforts.Sellers remorse, don’t adjust your course. Ya know, with all the fumbling around to find the keys, they had plenty of time to think about selling the bike. Iirc you paid her the higher end of her asking price range. I think the bike should stay with you. If the son wanted it he should have snagged it before it went up for sale. Since it sat there for so many years, it’s doubtful he had the skills to restore it himself. Although I don’t know the guy, he probably wouldn’t have wanted to pay the thousands of $ for a restoration.JUST got a call from the seller.......... rut roh.

Surely you jest!!! Regardless of what was paid for the Trident, I wouldn't give it up for love nor money... not making those no more and I can tell you from having ridden one years ago (a Rocket 3), its a peach of a machine.Agree with the "pound sand" consensus.
Maybe tell the Mom you've cleaned the bike up, tidied up a few things and got it to run. If you want the bike back, there will be a $500 charge attached to it for services rendered. I'd guess that would convince her to tell the son to pound sand.
I don't jest and stop caliing me ShirleySurely you jest!!! Regardless of what was paid for the Trident, I wouldn't give it up for love nor money... not making those no more and I can tell you from having ridden one years ago (a Rocket 3), its a peach of a machine.
My point was, make it painful for the son. Mom ain't gonna give an extra $500 back when she just wanted to get rid of the damn thing. She'll tell her son to piss off.Surely you jest!!! You’re the better man. They’ll know it too. They're coming to get it back. 550 they pick up.
I don't need to make a deal bad enough to have an old lady think I've robbed her.
Thanks for all who played along. I'll post a farewell pic.
