One Mans Junk.... '72 CS5E (RD200) Build.

Query for the Borg... add the grab strap or leave it off?

The nut plates for the strap are welded into the pan, so I can add a strap anytime I want. Removing one would leave holes in the cover though. It's staying off for now. After the bike's finished, I'll revisit the strap. I will say though I'm leaning toward no strap.

Spring has sprung.

I've got a love hate relationship with spring. It's a fantastic time of year... 'cept for all the outdoor spring wakeup chores. Anyway.....

Finally got around to zinc plating the kicker shaft. Actually did 3 rounds of plating... just 'cause.
Cleaned everything up and put it back together. Gonna try and get the engine covers all polished up this week, fingers crossed. Then I can reinstall this recalcitrant kicker.

Small bites.

I need another project like I need a hole in the head. Yet here we are. :cautious:

Looks good, Jim! I've done a bunch of that at Casa Downeaster. 7 separate flowerbeds and a terrace in the back yard.

Made the mistake of letting a Deep Homo forklift driver load a pallet of them in the back of my Tundra once. Once. Tundra was middlin' unhappy with the load, driver was VERY unhappy with the damage to the wheel wells...

Yeah, more plating...

Pivot bolt for the swingarm. This is what it looks like when it comes out of the bath, a milky grey.

...and then after a light brush up with a soft wire brish.

Not perfect by any means, but plenty good enough for this build.

And here's a bowl full of hardware I plated for Victor 'bout a year and a half ago. Sat on the workbench in the garage this whole time, and nary a whiff of rust.
