Orange county Cafe project

Before throwing any money at it, I'd be testing stuff. Testing and tracing the wiring to make sure when you turn the key on, 12 volts is being delivered to the various components (coil, TCI box) as it should be.

replaced the coil and still no spark. im gonna replace the whole harness with new wiring anyways. im just glad that it cranks and has good compression. getting started on breaking it down and chopping up the frame.

Trying to test the wires on the connectors to see if my TCI, stator and rectifier are working. Can anyone tell me which connector is which or which wires I should be testing? what is the connector at the bottom with the red and black wire on the first picture? im assuming the rectifier is the one above it, and the second picture is connectors for the stator and TCI.

Top plug in your 1st pic with the cloth covered wires is from the stator. Bottom 3 wire plug is from the ignition pick-up mounted on the stator. Second pic, top plug with the green and brown wires goes to your combined regulator/rectifier unit. Bottom plug with the striped white wires goes to the TCI black box.

awesome, makes me nervous asking questions like this but im a total noob when it comes to bikes. this is a new hobby im picking up and starting to already learn a few things from you guys. gonna start testing these wires before throwing any more money on fully functioning parts.

Good news, got the engine fired up, running and charges fine. Even put on the ricks lithium rectifier and Shorai battery and works fine as well. Started labeling connectors and removing the harness. What part is this rectangle box near the coil area?

Some progress on the project. Welded on the hoop, removed some ugly brackets, made a electronics tray.

Thanks, it's fun and exhausting at the same time. Already have the m-unit blue and m- botton on the way. Thanks to some members on this group, I was able to get the spoke wheels I'm looking for. I'll be getting rid of the Special spoke wheels here soon if anyone is looking for a set.

I understand. I'm a car restorer and former amateur sports car racer. I've been involved in this type of stuff for most of my adult life. Fun, rewarding and exhausting all at once. Because my trade is in the paint and body end of things, I find this forum invaluable. This is a good (and knowledgeable) bunch of guys.

Got bored and didn't care for the seat pan so decided to make a new one. Got even more bored and decided to do something with the fuel tank to give it a different shape.
