Seriously though, polishing (for me) starts at 2000grit paper and steps up to, 3000, 5000 and 8000grit. as long as you're not concentrating on the corners, you'll be fine.
I also turn the speed waaaaaaay down, keep it wet with compound/polish and barely touch it with the wool, kinda' let it slap at it.Don't polish 'em...
