So picked up this bike on the cheap a while back - previous owner tried to cafe it and only got to powder coating the frame.

I am headed a different direction with this bike and want to put the passenger pegs and exhaust mount back on.

I am hoping someone may be able to take some measurements based on a few spots on the frame so I eliminate some mock up time before welding them back on. (Maybe where the peg mount sits in relationship to the front peg mounts)

also, if anyone has a left right side they have cut off and would like to get rid of please let me know.

If I can’t find a left side I’ll make one but measurements would still really be helpful.

my other bike is a standard or else I’d measure that

I may have what you need. I cut off my mounts off my 78 which look similar to what you have posted. I’ll have a look and show you what I’ve got.

79 Special II frame to measure.
Scales, time, but poor phone service here.
Would you like measurements? Which imparticular

That looks like 8” center to center on those two mounts.

Are those two points pretty “level”

id imagine that should get me close enough.

really appreciate that!

7.25" seen here from the swingarm pivot "flat" across two leveled nuts to the rear pass mount center..

Don't mean to tell you how to do your own repair, but I'd cut 2 pieces of wood... metal.. whatever and drill 10mm holes at those dimensions. Bolt them to the 3 studs and your bracket is fixed in position. Washer as required for alignment. I just looked at mine and it looks like the bracket is centered on the tube it needs welding to.

I was going to do something quite similar to that.

Hopefully I can track down the other side, if not, I’ll make something.

You can have them for the cost of shipping. I don’t see them getting used in my future. Shoot me a PM and I’ll get them packaged up to ship out as cheap as possible.

seeing 5.75" with the scale more inline positioned from behind the front footpeg mount behind the footpeg body. (straighter)
