Hey guys, New here. Not really sure who to ask about this, but I bought a set of Yamaha R6 front forks for $150. Supposed to be 2006 R6. Came with the forks, wheels, calipers and all. Only thing missing was the triple tree. So I ordered a used one off line for a 2003 R6. They don’t fit. The forks are too wide in diameter to fit. So not I’m not sure anything about the forks? Are they R1? R6? Did they change diameter over the years? I thought I got a steal, but now I’m worried. Sorry I’m a nube on anything newer. Thanks so much!

Could be Yamaha hence the black rim and red pinstripe. Could be R1 or FZ1 or FZ6??? Who knows maybe another Forum would have specifics. I think they might of stole the money from your wallet.

05 was the first year of inverted forks on the R6. The next year they updated the body. The older style got called the R6s and went back to conventional forks. You'll need triples for a 2005 and newer R6r.

Or a "bro with milling machine" to carve you a pair of 'trees that'll fit the new fork tubes and the XS650 'tree stem.
