Or an '81 converted to a PMA.An 81 should have a TCI electronic ignition so this motor may be a 79 or older''''

I believe that this is the case..is there a specific wiring harness I can use for that?Or an '81 converted to a PMA.
The alternator cover is on the bottom left of the engine. The small round cover with Yamaha on it. Two screws has it off and you can give us a picture to identify it. Might be a PMA or it might still be the original alternator. Some of the TCI ignition bikes were swapped to a Pamco ignition just because the TCI box went bad. So let's have a look and see what you have?I believe that this is the case..
