Please help me identify this Ignition System!

Trying to simplify the wiring on my bike without breaking the bank.. does this ring a bell to anyone?
1981 Xs650, this was on when I got her.

Pamco, the original is not produced anymore , but Mikes XS is selling a knock-off. ........What is under the other side ???

Or an '81 converted to a PMA.

I believe that this is the case..is there a specific wiring harness I can use for that?
Would like front and tail lights, don’t need electric start but could take it if easiest.

The alternator cover is on the bottom left of the engine. The small round cover with Yamaha on it. Two screws has it off and you can give us a picture to identify it. Might be a PMA or it might still be the original alternator. Some of the TCI ignition bikes were swapped to a Pamco ignition just because the TCI box went bad. So let's have a look and see what you have?

OK, as Jim stated you have a Pamco ignition and a PMA charging system. The diagram Gary showed is just right for you.....

Is there a blue box attached to the pamco ignition? If so you have an electronic advancer and need to wire it appropriately. If you have this under the right cover you have a mechanical advancer.
