Hello,
I am checking the ignition system of my newly bought bike.
It is a 1978 447 model with original points.
The spark is not very bright so I am checking everything.
The primary and secondary windings of the coils have correct values.
When measuring the resistance of the Ngk plugcaps I read 900 ohms.
I think it is too much.
Question : should I try to fit non resistive caps to get a better spark.
Thank you in advance.
Bruno

Your reading is odd. NGK plug caps are sold with 1000 ohm, 5000 ohm, or zero (no) resistance. Maybe yours are the 1000 ohm caps? And no, that's not too much. Stock caps were something like 8K or 9K ohms (8000 or 9000). But yes, you could fit zero ohm, no resistance caps with points.

Thank you for your very fast reply. I understand that my caps are compatible with the points so I will let them in place.

I think the points/condenser ignitions will work best with no resistance in the system at all. Not in the plugs, not in the caps and certainly not in the wires.
