I have a friend who's german( Gebhardt) who just happened to be born on St. Patricks day
The doctor who was helping with the birthing process convinced his parents to name him Pat

My dad was Anthony Mathias xxxxxxx II. His Granddad was Antone Matias III, grandpa Anthony Mathias I. So dad was the V or the II depending on how Germanic number pass father to son. Fortunately grandpa married a fair Irish lass and when she delivered a son on 17 March he was named Anthony Mathias but everyone called him Pat all his life.
