I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a set of RS36 Carbs for my 79 XS750. It took about a month from the time of my order for them to be built and get to my door, Tom at Mikunioz told me that it’s because a shipment of new carbs was crazy late or something like that but it’s not the norm. After replacing the spark plugs that the old carbs fouled, the bike started up no problem. Runs like a top and Id definitely recommend if you’re done with the headache of CV carbs.

That's good to hear I have a set in my wardrobe from Mikunioz ready to go on my 850. I bought set of velocity stacks, a push pull throttle and some sock filters as well.
Are you running the stock air box?
We all like photos if you feel inclined to post one.

Running Uni Pro filters with the delkevic 3 into 1 exhaust. She runs way too lean out of the box with that configuration, I had to richen it up quite a bit but anything off idle no popping whatsoever. Those pumpers keep fuel flowing nice. The powerband is fantastic, consistent power off idle all the way up to wide open. Push pull throttle is a little difficult to install but it's great for engine braking if you leave some slack in the line; if you twist the throttle backwards you can essentially cut off all power to the engine when you're slowing to a stop. The clacking that comes from the carbs is super loud at idle but I find it quite charming.
