"Blowing a mouse" through conduit was a great time saver. Also kinda fun. They also had the air tools to shoot a string through the conduit from box to box. A lot faster than using a fish!

I suppose you would get strange looks from some people at a restaurant if you started talking about that at dinner with your electrician friends! Might even get some PETA people upset!"Blowing a mouse" through conduit was a great time saver. Also kinda fun.
Used a slingshot for CAT5 from building to building. Great fun. It was a modified wrist rocket. Had to keep it locked up as guys got in trouble playing with it. Not me tho.I've also used a slingshot
Gets me thinking about the things we did at the pig plant. Do you have any idea how high a 5 gallon bucket will go powered by a CO2 bomb?
Used to do that with the small milk containers. Also need to mix in a little oxy.No, but I've got a pretty good idea how many cops will respond if you fill a small garbage bag full of acetylene and touch it off...
I used to use a crossbow in commercial building ceilings... Fast and easy way to get a pull cord across several hundred feet of warehouse or manufacturing plant.... I worked in electronic security/fire/access control in the late 80s/early 90s. Did lots of installs and rewires in Westinghouse, Bendix, AAI, and other military contractors. Westinghouse's torpedo plant and radar plant were favorites!I've used the mouse-and-string method too, especially on long runs of CAT5 twisted pair cable. I've also used a slingshot to fire a nut tied to a string across sections of drop ceiling. That's a crap shoot if there's anything in the way, but saves a lot of time when it works.
EM or ET?I was installing equipment for the Navy.
EM or ET?
Sounds like you probably spent a lot of time in CIC. HooYahCTM - basically a cryptology-focused ET with a fancy clearance.
