I have been taking my time rebuilding the BS34s for my 1980 SG. The carbs were thoroughly cleaned and everything was looking fantastic, until I attempted to tackle replacing the fuel screws. First off, removing the inserts to access the screws was a bitch, with one having to be drilled out with a carbide drill bit after the wood screw broke off in it. Then, I removed the fuel screw for the LH carb easily enough, but the RH screw would not budge, and of course, I chewed up the brass screw head. I then decided to drill it to use an easy out. I was turning in the easy out bit and snap. I then attempted to drill that out with a carbide drill bit and .....snap, with no pressure.....arghhhhh. So, I am hoping that someone here with better machine tools and know-how can take on the task of saving this carburetor for me so that I can get this bike back on the road. It really would be a shame to have to scrap this carburetor because of this. I should have listened to the voice in my head to stop and run it as is before I went any further with the easy out, but I just couldn't do it (listen), and here I am
