Red hot pipes

i followed 5twins recommendation on UNIpods and it worked out very well. He can tell you what size you need.
i think initially i found stacks more efficient than pod filters because i ride this bike in the rain more often than most , and pods get damn hard to deal with when they get wet

i found these cool plastic food savers sorta like the same construction as a hairnet but water tight , i used to pop them
on my filters when i parked incase it rained

The last post in the thread on the right side running hotter than the left that zrx1100 linked to in his post #23 is very interesting. It seems these only run hotter on the right side when idling at a stop. Running down the road, the temps are the same. This post is from mrriggs, a very knowledgeable and well respected member around here, so I have no reason to doubt him. He introduced us to the UNI pods and the Kawasaki 500 carb conversion, among other things. He hasn't posted for several years, I wonder what happened to him?

Retarded timing could cause that. Check your idle and full advance. If it doesn't burn in the combustion chamber, it burns in the pipe.
Lean jetting, and letting the bike run high idle on choke/enrichener to warm up, can do it as well.
