REO Trucks - new vehicle startup

I was made aware of this new startup out of Texas. They're reviving the REO nameplate.

Intent is an inexpensive, simplistic, gas powered pickup and SUV. Supposedly ready for market around 2028/29.

I took the chance and put down the $25 reservation fee...

I had one too. A 96 2.2 manual, short cab with bench seat, RWD. Was pretty handy to have, but not exactly great on snow covered roads....

Same, but a '98. I ended up putting a limited-slip Eaton posi out back, and learned to start off in 2nd when it snowed.

I do miss my VW Amarok Pickup truck. I made a mistake selling it and getting a VW T-Roc shopping cart; even if it does have 377bhp of thrust fun! It’s hard to use the thrust with the pot holed roads we have; that my truck just sailed over.

I had an '89 S-10, 4x2 extended cab. did the exact same thing.

just checked; 2022 and newer, based on the 2019 Ford/VW alliance agreement.

First Gen Amarok were entirely VW manufactured.

Second Gen VW hooked up with Ford; they are now on a shared platform.
