I am trying to find replacement carb boots for my '83 XS650 Heritage Special. I have bought two sets of replacements on ebay, but neither will fit properly.

The OEM carb boots have a lip that is about 4mm from the edge, which matches the lip around the outlet of the BS34 carb. The two aftermarket pairs I have purchased so far have a lip that is ~8mm from the inside edge, which doesn't fit. Even using a little grease and a heat gun and forcing them on there, they just pop right back off.

I have attached a picture for reference.

Does anyone know a reliable supplier of replacement boots that is still in operation? MikesXS is sold out of these unfortunately.

Where'd you get them from? I just got a set from CruzinImage in Japan but haven't teet for them yet. I'll try tomorrow and let you know.

What you want to look for are boots made by ARS. They were the original supplier to Yamaha. The boot will have the ARS label on it .....

I think the ones sold by Tourmaster are the ARS ones.

I bought mine from Cruizinimage and although tight, seem to work great. Cruizinimage is fast and good.
