Jim,I’m not going to be getting the original coming your way tomorrow. My puller has 5or6 pulls on it,threads are way to worn and it’s not working as it should. For $22.00 it should have lasted another 5or 6 pulls.😂I’ll get a new puller on the way,get the original rotor off and heading your way most likely in a week.Rather than revert to the old methods of rotor removal that either worked or ruined crankshafts 🥴,I’ll let you know when it’s on the way.

Alternatively... I could wind one of my cores and ship it and a puller,You can send the puller back when you send me the core. Saves you buying a new puller unless, you just rather buy one for future projects. Your choice?
I’m needing a new puller for future projects. I appreciate the offer of using yours.I’ll get this original rotor off and headed your way shortly after my new puller arrives. Thanks

Just teasing on that of course. The Boyer electronic ignition I have definitely evened things out and made the bike smoother when I installed it a few years ago but want to refurbish the original charging system and need a carb rebuild. I should redo the handlebar mounts too. I've got bad circulation in my hands and the vibes don't help.

Can't say enough about soft silicone grips and or some sort of "palm wings" to help with hand pain.

Need to redo the handle bar bushings on this one also, flop, flop, flop, but the grips still make it a 100 mile + bike.
Obligatory Jim Content; this 71 has a :bow:JIM:bow2: rewound rotor doing charging duty.
I'm guessing the LED headlight offsets the GPS charging load. ;^)

Riding season is almost done for the year. Planning that big "refresh" on your bike over the winter?
Start out next season with a freshly rewound rotor.
That or keep your buddy with a trailer happy so he'll come get you when your battery dies. Seems an easy choice to me. ;)

Just bought my second unit from Jim for my other XS. Folks this is the way to go. These electronics are getting pretty old. Jim's fees for his services is very reasonable. His product is top notch and he is very prompt in shipping and communications.

Also for those of you who are not familiar with Pirate Ship, this is the only way I ship parts anymore. Free membership and saves a ton on shipping. For reference, my 6x6x6 box to send Jim my core cost me $6.30 to ship from NE Indiana to Jim in KC.

Thanks again Jim!!!

It's been 7 yrs of rewinding rotors now. About halfway thru I gave away all my copper to a buddy... so this is about 3-4 yrs worth of rewinds. Prolly close to 100 lbs there. I've always wanted to try my hand at smelting and casting. One of these days...
