My dad became a minister when I was 10 and I didn't want to be the preachers son. I most definitely rebelled against it and had fun doing it.

Mark Knopfler's mostly known for his early work with Dire Straits, but has released quite a few beautiful "solo" albums since. Great songwriter and guitar player (unique blend of clawhammer and picking), my absolute favorite.

that's like 11 solo albums and then collaborations and soundtracks. I didn't realize He was still alive let alone making music and don't ever remember the radio stations mentioning his name. I going to have to go back and check out all the groups I considered classic rock and see what they came up with. I just assumed they stopped making music because I stopped hearing it.
Yes, if you're into country music his albums with Chet Atkins (Neck and Neck) and Emmylou Harris (All The Roadrunning) are absolute masterpieces - check them out !
