RIP
On The Turntable Tonight.
STEELY DAN - Pretzel Logic
AJA is often regarded as their best, but for me Pretzel Logic stands out. Donald Fagan & Walter Becker shrug off the tiresome touring and commit to studio work.
Sacking the SD band musicians and founder Deny Dias, who recruited Fagan & Becker! Yet most returned to work as session players. Drummers included Steve Gadd (genius); and Jim Gordon, the main stick shaker here. Both are wonderful at their craft. Go give it a listen.
SARA BAREILLES - Little Voice
An album showcasing a woman that can craft a wonderful song.
Also has a voice to deliver the intensity of what she sings about.
A good mix of Ballard and pop to enjoy.
Good choice Doug; who doesn't love the stand out tracks of Do It Again & Reeling In The Years.Love Steely Dan and Pretzil logic is my second favourite SD album
My favourite Steely Dan album is

Nice! Shades of Billie Holidays note blending in the vocals. I don't think I want to hear Cohens version after hearing Madeleines.
Leonard Cohen song. Beautiful
Gerry Rafferty hit the high spot with Baker Street; but his back catalogue is stuffed with songwriting gems in my opinion.Right Down The Line - Gerry Rafferty
And a nice cover by Mike Massé
That be a bit of a distance for me, but if I were near, I’d be there. For anyone interested in good music in a small intimate venue; here is the link to the ACAPELA STUDIO; a venue I frequent at least twice a month. Great acts, the best pizza in Wales (Brick built / Olive wood oven). and great beer and wine!
