I’ve also just started actively reading again after a long hiatus, I used to be a voracious reader when I was a child. I’ve pledged to read more. As you say television is mostly trash so what better way to spend an evening.
I was bought this for Christmas and read it in a week I enjoyed it that much.
Before I’d even finished I ordered these so I could keep going.

At the moment, re-reading James Michener's "Space". Read a lot of SciFi, pretty much everything Robert Heinlein ever wrote, most of it multiple times. Kurt Schlichter's series on the crash and recovery of "woke" America. Everything I can find by Spider Robinson. Anne McCaffrey's "Pern" series (Fantasy, flying dragon riders, etc). W.E.B. Griffins Marine Corps and Army series.
