Hey guys,

it's getting colder here in MN at the end of the riding season and i've noticed my bike has been popping on the right side a bit. I cleaned the carbs and messed with the air mix and that helped for a while. It's started again and i'll make a list of symptoms and changes i've made, maybe on of you guys have experienced this before.

The bike pops and stutters right as i let of the clutch and through to 1/4 throttle. Idle set around 1200, the left exhaust seems strong, right side is weaker with even some vacuum. Not really popping at idle from the right side.

I just bumped the pilots up from 35 to 40 to combat what i thought was a lean mix due to the colder weather. Mains are at 142.5. The needle clip is 3rd from the top.

The bike is a '79 with pods and chopped stock exhaust with shorty silencers.

Any advice is welcome!

when did you adjust the valves last? Have you synchronized the carbs lately?
Do your carb diaphrams have holes in them?

Valves were last done this spring, 2000 miles since then. Diaphragms are good. Haven't synced recently, that was my next step. mix screws are set a 3 turn out.
