Been trying to remove the shoulder tubes from my rocker cover. Not sure exact terminology.

Been using the socket and hammer method but they don't budge.

Scared to go crazy on these things and do damage.
should I be using a press.

Thought this would be easy enough??

Thx

No, I think he means the sleeves with the o-rings on them that fit into the top cover, the ones the 4 outer studs pass through. I've always managed to get them out by gently tapping on them with a suitably sized socket. The ones I've encountered weren't in there all that tight.

You are tapping them from the top down, right? They have a lip around the bottom (for the o-ring) and won't tap out upward.

5twins is correct. The sleeve.

I'm tapping from top down.

I only tried one.

Will have another go at the others. I was nervous that maybe the PO may have used some sealant.
You never know.

Cheers Gents.
