Rust removal from inside gas tank

I was going to try the vinegar method...
But then I got impatient and just dumped about a pint of muriatic acid (31% hydrochloric acid) in the tank and swish it around for 5 minutes, rinse it out and WD-40 it and it looks like nearly brand-new!

I didn't get before pics but this is after my bike stopped running on the highway because there was so much rust it clogged the petcock.

I've used phosphoric acid for many years especially in automotive applications and recently I've tried evapo-rust which is fantastic but I was impatient and I'm not afraid of a strong acid so all in all pretty pleased with the results.

Also extremely cheap.
