Safety green auxiliary lights

Today on my way home I saw a bike with safety green colored auxiliary lights in my rear view mirror. This was in bright daylight and really caught my attention. I couldn't not notice them and demanded my attention. It was better than any hi-viz or loud pipe or any other way of getting noticed by a car IMO. I don't know if it was the color or brightness but definitely worked. Has anyone seen anything like what I'm describing? Any experience with aux lights for not getting smooshed by a left turning car or anything? Brands?I searched Youtube but only found amber lensed light examples and they didn't pop like the green I saw today.

I have seen theese lights. They do grab your attention. I Googled "green motorcycle safety lights" and found different types at different prices. May not be legal in all states.
I believe that every little bit helps when it comes to being seen. Coin toss on will they prevent accidents. Always assume that they don't see you and ride accordingly.

So I should have clarified, the lights were on an adventure tourer in the fog light position and did not blink and more of a yellowish green like the safety vests and not an orange yellow (amber) like signals. Either way I just wanted to see if it was a common thing that I just haven't heard about yet. You could probably get away with them in my area without any hassle, after all we did decriminalize hard core drugs for a few years and cops just stopped doing their jobs if they didn't feel like it. I guess they figured why do the paperwork when they can't arrest vagrants for shooting meth in a park next to a kid on a swing set?

Hey John. The lights I've seen are as you describe. A yellow-green that really stands out in daylight. They have also been mounted low on mostly BMW GS. As you say, I doubt that the police would make it an issue unless you were riding "wreckless" or being a jerk.

The average motorist is capable of recognizing only a small number of anomalies, (when they happen to look up from their phone) expand the light colors available very far, and they are likely to react in unintended (and extremely stupid) ways.
Yes we want to be seen, but fixation may (will) result in negative outcomes.
Strobing headlights is one such technique proven? to have negative consequences.
An example is an accident on the OTHER SIDE of a divided highway everyone slows down to gawk and then run into each other. Actually saw a woman in a minivan full of kids on the freeway plow into the back of a maint dump truck that was literally covered in flashing lights and arrows. There's only so much you can do.

Do you think they help with being seen. I almost got hit Saturday by a car backing out of a driveway. He was letting cars go by but then backed right out in front of me. This was in slow traffic so I was closer to the car in front of me than I normally would have been so I went into oncoming a little bit and tried to make myself narrow. luckily he had backed a little into the oncoming lane as well and the oncoming car saw him and stopped giving me room. On another note, one of my favorite bands is from NC, you ever heard of ASG?

As has been pointed out before.... people actually have to point their eyes at you to be able to see you.

An idiot on a cell phone would rear end a 747 and then be all "I didn't see him."

Yes it helps being seen... as long as they are looking up... I believe in the triangle of light up front...

 

[Its been a long time]

Last time I was out on the 650 a HUGE tractor pulled out right in front of me from a side road. I think he was sitting so high that he looked right over me. It was a very close encounter. Luckily the not so wonderful XS650 brakes proved up to the job on that occasion. I could have dressed like a Christmas tree, no way that idiot tractor driver was going to see me. He wasn't looking for me.

I've got the headlight modulators on 2 out of 3 bikes
It's not much but it's something
And if I'm riding with another person I always ride on one side of the road or the other ( and behind aways ) from the person in front of me so the oncoming traffic can see both headlights
