This has probably been covered 100 times but I poked around a bit and couldn't find anything so does anyone have a source for stock seat foam replacement or do you just have the upholstery shop build it?
lots of people use carpet padding in layers, but it isnt closed cell and it soaks up water. I used closed cell gymnastic mat type for my seat, it feels almost like gel and is supportive without being too stiff.
I'm thinking that the guy who does upholstery work on my cars can probably build up and shape foam since he does it all the time for car seats. We pulled the factory cover off a H.D. seat and found a thin plastic film glued to the seat foam which kept water from soaking in.. I have the original seat pad but it's shot but would work as a pattern for a replacement. I'll take it to him next month and see what he thinks.
