Some of the radio commercials were better than the drags. Here in Ks. we used to listen to WLS in Chicago. Dig Daddy and Shirley were always going to scratch each others eyes out on the line. Then after the races they probably went out to dinner together?

Getting back to the original post, here is a almost forgotten drag racer-Hottie with a helmet.
Which is not to say that Muldowney's looks were her only asset. She won the NHRA Top Fuel championship in 1977, 1980, and 1982, becoming the first person to win two and three Top Fuel titles.
Then she had a big spectacular crash in 1984 when she crushed her hands, pelvis, and legs, necessitating half a dozen operations, but then made a comeback.
Danica has a way to go, yet.

We used to have a first class National drag strip here called Beeline Raceway. All the big names used to show up here for the Winter Nationals. I went there many times as a kid and in my teenage years.
Even Evel Kneivel did a jump there!
And of course the race track hotties.
Sadly, it closed and fell into disrepair, and was ultimately torn down.

Stacey has been riding Rob’s XS for quite a while now and really enjoys the experience, she also had the opportunity to ride Ivan Hoey’s racer at the last Broadford Bonanza and was very impressed with Ivan’s bike as well. If we can sign her up as a club member I wonder if she would like to ride the club racer? - Terry Gliddon
Since then Stacy has become the club racer resident rider.
