drag and drop Jim drag and drop.........not copy and past:)...........but the drag and drop works as per my last post.
Nope. I get the drag and drop Doug. What I did was copy (ctrl-C) and paste (ctrl-V) a random pic off a random webpage. Worked like a charm.

One thing that kinda bums me is Brave keeps recently saved files in a bar across the bottom. In the previous XenForo version you could just drag and drop from there. That no longer works. Oh well.... c'est la vie

Speaking of links...

Looks like I have SEVERAL HUNDRED broken links scattered about in here, spanning from 2013 to 2018. They have the older "showthread" and "showpost" keywords, like these:

http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41413
http://www.xs650.com/forum/showpost.php?p=318983&postcount=19

Like in this post #4:
https://www.xs650.com/threads/new-worm-gear-question.41436/post-415082

The forum software just says "This page isn't working".

I don't think I have enuff time left on this planet to try to remember and find all the thread/post locations, and fix those links. Do the numbers in those older links have any useful meaning, do they point to appropriate indexes in the current forum database? If so, could the old link text be rewritten to link to the correct thread/post?

Or are they irretrievably broken?

@TwoManyXS1Bs

Good catch with the links. Those look like vbulletin links, so that means the old redirects from 2016 stopped working with the upgrade. Those can be fixed. Don't change them manually. I'll get them all working again.

The broken pictures that were hosted on the site can be fixed too. I'll fix or create redirects for those too.

Thank you for finding those issues and posting about them in detail. That is very helpful.

Not sure if it is something at my end and not really a big problem but several times, like just now, when I click on the "Mark Forums Read" button as I am going to leave the Forum I get this message:

Oops! We ran into some problems.
Security error occurred. Please press back, refresh the page, and try again.

I'll try to make note of anything else I can notice the next time.

@TwoManyXS1Bs The link redirects should all be working now. Let me know if you find any more that don't work. I'm still looking into the thumbnail issue and will get back to you.

@kshansen This sounds like a browser cookie issue. Which browser are you using? Have you changed any of the cookie or security settings? Do you have any add-on that might be blocking cookies? Are you browsing in incognito mode or using a proxy or VPN?

Anyone else having the problem kshansen descripted above?

The notification alerts for content and PMs only show after a page refresh. (firefox) I noticed some images that were missing from an old tech thread are now showing up again.

I did yesterday... Android w/chrome browser. Happened twice, then never happened again. I just passed it off as a temporary glitch.

Same with Brave.

The alerts update with something called an Ajax action. Certain things trigger it like hovering over someone's avatar. Perhaps Xenforo 1 had more triggers so it refreshed more? Everything about this is the default behavior with Xenforo 2. Hopefully, in time, they'll update the software so alerts are updated faster.

Do you know which post had the images that weren't working that are now working?

Was in Bill's master cylinder overhaul thread. Might have been first post. :umm:
