Smilies Box Moved in Advanced Editor. What do you think?

What does everyone think about having the Smilies box moved below the editor box in the Advanced Editor? This allows for a wider editor box since the Smilies box is no longer on the right taking up space. The change has already been made so check it out by replying to this thread using the advanced editor and let me know what you think.

Is it too distracting to have the animated images below the editor box when you're typing?

Should we get rid of the Smilies box completely since there is already a Smilies drop down list next to the Attachment icon in the advanced editor?

Any other suggestions?

- looks ok...a smilie short list is cool...do we need the 'more' and the pull down?

- is it possible to have the original message also in the field of vision?

For someone too old, curmudgeonly and old fashioned to use smilies........this site is way cool.

Seems like not many people care much about the location of the Smilies box so I might remove it and people can just use the pull down box. Having the Smilies box only saves one click over using the drop-down menu and it would be less distracting as you type if there weren't animated pictures under the editor box.

inxs, depending on your monitor's resolution, you might be able to see some of the conversation as you type if you collapse the 'Additional Options' box (click the arrows in the upper right corner). That will bring the posts closer to the editor box but they're still sorted newest first. Removing the Smilies box would also help.
