tossing those "blue splice connectors" and wirenuts as I go, The wiring had been simplicated, but seriously not much to wire. About ready to wrap the bundles, plumb the gas lines and give it a go.
Jim's getting me all excited!

Yeah, love the gold. Might be one of the prettiest colors you’ve done. In my humble opinion. 👍🏻
As Paul Harvey used to say... "and now, for the rest of the story." :wink2:
The candy green was paint on hand. It's a perfect match for the XS1. But it uses a silver base. What Gary and I wanted was more of a gold flavor to it.
I tried various golds and couldn't really find one that made the green "pop." After wasting way too much money on experiments... I rolled my own.
I have some Candy Golden Amber, which is almost a perfect match for the Candy Mandarin Orange used on the Oceana XS2's. Close, but not quiet. I mixed some of that into the silver base I have on hand and the gold base in the shot above (and below) is the result. So yes... technically a "custom" color.

How 'bout a sunlight test.... Norton tank with gold base and XS1 shock cover with silver.
You can clearly see the difference in using a silver vs gold base. My vote goes to the gold.

Well, it depends on the rest of the bike.

On a green and white bike, especially one with a lot of chrome and polished aluminum, the green over silver will look best.
