Is there any difference in 70-79 stators,and 80-84 stators, and how can you tell the difference ? I have a motor I think is 80-82, and I planned on wiring for points. That being said (asked), If I decide later to go Boyer can I just plug in new coil and boyer parts to my home made wire harness ?

I don't think there is a difference except for the 80-84 have the TCI pickup coil mounted.........I had a earlier stator here and compared it with my TCI ones and it even looked like the pickup coil could be mounted to a earlier one with just a couple of holes for the screws..........don't have the earlier one now....gave it to a friend in need...........
