Stators rotors and electrics

Hi I've posted a question about my clutch but I have a second problem the electrical system .my enduro is fitted with an xs2 engine .the bike is fitted with an electrical system from a later bike probably a later SE model with a single ignition coil I assume this is an electronic ignition.will I need to get a new rotor and stator .is it possible to wire in the original contact points system .Do all generators and statorsfit all crank ends many thanks Steve

Stators and rotors will interchange for all years with one caveat... '80 and newer used the TCI electronic iggy. Give us a pic of the points housing (top left cover on the head) and a pic of the alternator (left side of lower cases). We'll be able to give you much better advice when we know what you have.
