Today I did some filling, priming and sanding.
Then I started working on a tail light wire/fuse housing retaining bracket.

Today I took a break from filling, priming and sanding I worked on the tail light wiring and the tail light wiring housing mounting bracket.

Tonight I made some progress on my wiring housing. Lost track of time. It’s one am now, I get up a five am to go to work.

Today I completed most of the welding on the axle stay/tail light mount and installed passages for the tail light wiring.

This morning I did some filling and sanding and worked on some wiring details. Also made a little progress on my trailer hitch and flag pole mounting points.

Tonight I welded in the four license plate mounting studs and the trailer hitch, flag pole mounting points.

Back to filling, priming and sanding.

Every time I sand on it, it gets a little smoother.
The airplane is a old biplane project I need to get back to.

Crap! I was one fitting short to be able to test my new spray gun.

I think I’ve got all the jagged edges knocked off this thing.

And for my next feat, I’ll be Sanding orange peel and overspray.

Lots of sanding. I’ve been sanding with 400, 800 and 2000 grit. A little each day.

Today I laid down some really smooth paint, in three or four spots by accident.
Other than that it’s mostly more orange peel and over spray. I suck at painting.

I let the second coat of paint cure for six days before wet sanding. Sands much better but still sanded through to the primer in several places again. Still much more sanding and touch up. It’s more work since I’m not putting any clear over it.

So I bought the thirty dollar Harbor Freight touch up paint gun to touch up the sand throughs into the primer. The gun lays the paint down so smooth and precise it’s amazing. I should’ve painted the frame with this gun.

I’ve been cleaning and de burring lots of sharp edges off the motor. Also smoothing out cylinder head cooling fins edges. There was a lot of build up in the sump cover oil passage.

It's so simple you have to wonder why Yamaha didn't do it. I fitted one last year and the paper side filter too. But I'm anal about oil cleanliness.
