Stuff my dog says; on second thought I'll just build a race car

Alone today which means no access to the actual car. My book with all the measurements is sitting on the driveshaft tunnel at the moment too so no access to it either. I did had the panel for beneath the seat sitting at actual work, and the messed up battery cover piece that needed the angle reversed so I can do those two pieces, three really doing an access panel beneath the seat to get to the fuel pump and filter.

Another situation where I'm hoping what I remember being off about yesterday battery cover is what actually is off. I probably should have waited but oh well. Those being done and with tons of day left I decided to try something new.

So louver die practice/learning.

Pulley showed up yesterday evening too. Hopefully this is something that can be manipulated to work in the way the it needs to be to fit onto the crank pulley. It's a billet aluminum piece, 5.5 inches in diameter so that keeps an 11,000rpm blower max, power steering pulley made for a Fox body (85-93) Mustang.

More pictures for more of an idea of the process of the day. Had thought at one point about doing a pass through directly behind the seat too but in the end decided against it. Did leave the one directly about the driveshaft tunnel though as it's handy access for whenever the brake line gets done keeping it where one person can remove/install it even with the body done. Got the harmonic balancer off at the end of the day to get the Mustang pulley adapted to it, that crank bolt is 3/4 inch at least which was funny, definite old tractor engine vibes. The two bolts to be able to press the balancer off which will end up being pulley bolts for the supercharger drive at 7/16-20 which seems ridiculous. All bigger than the V8 stuff I'm used to which is 3 or 4 times the horsepower.

There's one of those for sale locally. Guy wants $11,500 for it. Solid, relatively rust free, appears (to my uneducated eye) to be all original. Looks like all it needs is tires.

I mentioned it to Mrs. Downeaster. She likes it too but I'd have to sell my bike to finance it. Don't like it THAT much...

The owner of this one has the M37 pictured, and 2 Power Wagons one of which he dropped off today for a non functioning charging system. The M37 is an awesome but largely useless piece stock.

Made a throttle pedal bracket this morning and then started on brake lines. The pedal brackets will get some weight saving cuts eventually most likely. Was a short day today so didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, especially when the next couple weekends are likely not going to see progress.

Is it comfortable to sit on?? Is the lower back support too high?? Yes, I am trying to create more upholstery work for you...:hump:

When I was messing with the foam with the seat still bolted in it was very comfortable for me. That was before cutting the foam into blocks and having the covering but I'm not expecting it to change things all that much. I have somewhat of an oddly proportioned body though and I'm not sure how it will sit for anyone else, not that those people matter much. The one thing I wasn't a fan of and am trying to contour out of it is the thigh ridge at the front of the seat is far too tall for comfort given how tall you sit in the car.

Just going off of cars at work, I have headroom issues in cars that coworkers 2 or 3 inches taller in standing height sit in without issue.
