Although I love my creature comforts, there are occasions where camping looks like it might be fun. I started looking at options and an SUV tent caught my eye. My daily driver is a 2015 Toyota 4Runner and it looks like there’s many options to buy that will adapt to my vehicle. I like the idea of being bug proof and bring able to keep high and dry if I get caught in s bit of rain (sleep in the back of the truck).

I’m looking for opinions on whether this might be a silly idea for someone who is in his early 70’s. Opinions and recommendations are welcomed. Looks like I can get into something for $3-400 and that’s what 2-3 hotel nights would cost me.

Picture for attention and reference to what I’m talking about.

It's a great option if you can separate yourself from the ground, which I bet you can. As in my case, keeping the daily stays inexpensive means that much more travel. I have been looking for something of that ilk for my pick-up. This is just that much more inspiration. Thanks.
