The inter connectivity of EVERYTHING

This is a scary topic for sure. Young people go along with it just fine and we are forced to if we want the convenience of a computer in our hands. My oldest son graduated from software engineering and writes software etc at a great paying job. He is comfortable with this tech and not concerned about privacy invasion but understands how to manage it.
These "phones" are truly more of a curse than a blessing, in every aspect. I'm glad I grew up without them.

About any kind of traveling makes credit cards and a smart phone a necessity not an option.
Camped at a county park along the Colorado River, we pulled in late, sign was self check in after hours, 200 site campground was full, ended up in a gravel "overflow lot" Checked out to pay for our not even a bathroom "campsite" :cautious:in the morning. the usual name home address license plate etc. etc. paid the $25 cash then she demanded a credit card # WTF? nope. bbbBut it's county policy we have to have it. I'm "We're done here", I left. Everything all the time. Sheesh.

Once upon a time, we could travel about with cash. Tracking our movements would be extremely difficult. Not so much anymore. I think that’s why some of our overlords want to do away with paper money.

tween the electronic payments and ubiquitous camera/recorders, license plate readers there's a record of everything we do.
Thanks for the reminder, the Kansas tollway has pics of my plate and wants payment for 150 miles of tolls. Better get on line and pony up before the cops show at my door. :yikes::shootme:

Not too many states with no front plate. I’ve been living front plateless since age 18. NC, FL, GA, and MS.

They read the rear plate, there's no escape.

Oh yeah, they had me. Not too bad, since it included an Oasis parking lot "campsite" ;^)

Crap, just remembered Oklahoma too. Don't THINK Texas had their hand out.

It's not just tollways. During an amber alert last winter a news org let slip that a "hidden" plate reader on "just a state highway river bridge" near me helped them find the car they thought was involved. I check two days later and the article no longer mentioned that detail.

"I may be paranoid but that doesn't mean they aren't out to get me."
Think about this, they are recording and entering your movements into databases. EVERY DAY.

That’s exactly the same as my own behavior. I’d rather watch someone restore an anvil than some stupid sitcom.
As far as the AI, just go with it. We used to have to look at commercials for feminine hygiene. Thankfully, those days are gone.

Here’s an instructional video on how to cook a leg of lamb. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
I’m wondering how many of you watched the “leg of lamb” video or had your significant other complain about you watching it. I’m having a distracted day.

Alabama lawmakers advance proposed ban on cellphones in school

That’s an AP headline today. I believe I’m good with it.
I think the province of Ontario banned cell phones in class last year. My Canadian cousins who live there may confirm.
