Hey all,
Hope everyone is doing well and thanks in advance for giving me any insight.
I have two general questions; one about a PMA reg/rec and the other about deciding on a big bore kit.
First question is this; I have a HHB complete PMA and CDI kit minus the MOFSET regulator rectifier. I used the one from my current kit to get another xs out the door for a friend. With Hugh’s website being down for months, I have been SOL on getting a replacement from him despite messaging. His PMA has TWO yellow wires leading out for the reg/rec and all the MOFSETs I am seeing for sale have THREE inputs. HHB MOFSET only had two. Can I just run two into a three? Not sure how that works. Pics attached (ignore the stator pickup circle, but notice the two yellows in the lower right. The photo is reused)
2nd question; the motor I am going to be using for my new build needs a complete tear down and rebuild so now would be the time for me to consider a big bore kit. A nut from a valve adjuster screw came loose, wedged itself under a cam lobe and blew through the head. Yikes. Do folks like the big bore kits enough for the $? Will this lead me down a hole to rephasing and swapping cams? I am not racing this hardtail but have read that the 750 big bore can be nice in reducing vibration and the extra power is appreciated. Thoughts?
Again, thanks for any insight. I am by no means an expert and love learning about these bikes.
