On the fender, you need to see it with the suspension compressed
I know it'll make a difference, but probably not much of one. The featherbed rivals the sportster for rear suspension travel. Main reason for looking at replacing the fender is it's been repaired, it's twisted from the back, and the chrome is flaking.

There are some really nice stainless steel blank mudguard blades available
I used some on my BSA cafe racer
I made all the stays from stainless steel to match

Problem I'm having is a ton of good aftermarket fenders aren't sold in the US. It's hard to spend $140 on shipping for a $110 fender.

I did fix the rear shock length. I had gotten them as short as I could with how they came, but it was still 1/2" too long. So I made some new bottom eyes for the shocks. They are now the correct 12" length for the frame. I did not set them up to take the bushings, since they are just cheap shocks for mock up I won't ride on them. I'm planning on some Ikon shocks for actual use.
