Throttle adjust

I have a 1979 XS660 special 2. I’m working on the carbs and noticed a missing idle screw for the left carb. Is that screw needed? or is the idle screw on the right carb and central screw enough?

The screw circled in blue is the sync/balance screw. If I'm interpreting the photo correctly, the red circle is on the right carb, right? No screw necessary.

Correct. The centre screw sets left/right balance.

You're welcome. It's a very common arrangement used on twin and multiple cylinder bikes, carburettor or fuel injection.

It’s all original so far had to replace the cam chain guide, while I was in there put on new rings and new valves.
