Sprockets and chain arrived this morning, so I set about fitting them. I don't have the lock washers anymore, they were so rusted and beaten up I threw them out. Imagine my surprise when I looked up the price of four lock washers - $37. Then there's another $35 for a 36mm socket. Call me a tightwad if you must, but damned if I was going to pay $72 just to fit the drive train.

Out with the steel, welder and file and lo and behold I now have a 36mm spanner and a front sprocket lock washer, took me all of 60 minutes. Spanner's a little rough, but it's a once only tool, so who cares. Tomorrow I'll attack the rear lock washers. I think the bolts are 55mm centres, but if anyone's got a lock washer handy, feel free to correct me.

Slowing down a lot now, the elbow's giving me heaps, that's all I managed today.

And look at the teeth on the drive sprocket. Not hard to see how the chain ripped the cases apart, and the PO dick just put it back on and continued using it.

I don't live in Londonderry, add postage to those prices and it's not a lot cheaper than ebay.
And of course, Geoff doesn't like me anymore, too bad, so sad, I complained about his ill fitting spokes.
He is cheap on somethings though, and right over the top on others: $280 for a fuel cap??? Heidens are around the same prices if you don't mind waiting, and their spokes are a lot better!
