I wanted to share my photos of assembly because what is happening beyond this point has me stumped. All while at TDC.
Valves have been adjusted for cylinders. Cam chain tensioner is flush. New cam chain installed. Everything has been aligned every specific detail followed to a T while assembling.
Once I place points screws into plates and use feeler gauges to gap to .15 thou
It’s all down hill from there.
I currently do not have a running engine. This is a complete rebuild. Okay that being said I’m utilizing a battery powered continuity tester with light bulb.
I’ve watched every single video and that’s how I know this isn’t normal.
I have no clue if what I’m about to say will make any sense. When I rotate engine at around 10 o’clock (not fire not TDC) 10-11 o’clock on the flywheel light comes on and shuts off as soon as I hit fire mark. Close at 10 and open at 6 (fire).
Thumb hole trick is being utilized to tell compression side. Upper is right and left is lower.
Something is not adding up here.
My plate could never move far enough to advance or retard the 10 o’clock all the way to 6 o’clock fire timing marker gapping gap on the timing marker on the fly wheel.
If you need more photos just ask.
