Tracker Extraordinaire rescue

4 WTF happened to the fun of sending parts to each other ? (SHIPPING COSTS)
A few weeks ago you sent out an ask for the frame downtube. I offered to cut one out of an old frame... only cost to you is shipping. It's been sitting in the basement ever since... waiting on you to give me your shipping address. All I've heard since is crickets.

In spite of you pissing me off when you went after one of our younger members, the offer stands...

... so yeah... that's what happened to the fun of sending parts to each other.... lack of follow through.

I grinded the po’s welds which were big enough for a bank vault.
I’m not sure if I have the correct wheel but it took plenty of effort and noise to get good results. The garage became full of grey dust but I’m going to make it look good enough maybe this weekend.
No rear brake switch, No tachometer cable, just a reasonable clean dirt bike frame

So awhile back having been unexpectedly fired for driving my Volvo Sleeper Cab & 53’ trailer thru a tight alley in Old downtown Walla Walla WA to deliver wine to the back door. The lady there thought I was fabulous, my boss thought I was a rebel. Cheers to Rebels!
I completed a few home projects, have a new trucking job next week.
My frame is ground and prettied up quite a bit. I took it to a reputable fabricator and his bid was $110 per hour X 3 plus materials 😳 frick no.
I’m not a welder / fabricator and need to know what is compatible material to weld into an XS frame ?
I wanna pick up there with that question.

Still Kicking ! Driving long nights these days.
Sunshine is out so it’s rattle can season 👍
Decided to not polish side cases but instead continue with the quick and ez black / chrome scheme.
Holding off today on the clutch assembly thinking about that for a bit. All 79 components appear in fine condition and will most likely keep it stock but.. what’s the hurry?

The truck photo kinda takes me back. I used to be a paint and body guy at a Freightliner and later a Mack dealer. It's a completely different game now from the 70's and 80's. I like what you did with the engine.

Oil pump in the cover. Clutch actuator replaced with a very good one saved over the years. Clean, tight, and well lubed. Covers good to go.
Had to custom make button stainless screws to proper length by file as my grinder has not survived for more service after that window “asbestos” dust and then frame grinding… died in my hands lol

Very nice paint work, and imagination to make it just that much more attractive. This is a really singular effort.

This is a really singular effort.
Thank you for the compliments but it should be noted that this project is not at all a singular effort. I’ve been fortunate in taking over a project which much of the design and investment was started. Yes, Im changing many of the po’s ideas to my own liking. Attempting to end up with a very unique fun to look at thrill ride
😄👍

Created a fine tachometer delete plug out of a stock tachometer drive unit. Short, discreet, perfect fit. ;)
So with the cover being completed it became time to finish the clutch assembly. “Torqued” those original screws in to a “solid torque feel” as they bottomed to the shoulder with a light blue loctite application. Then went around twice with my trusty old Snap On triangular handle combined with a tap from the light ball peen to a confirmed satisfied feel.
There has been discussion as to whether an outside of the circlip washer is used or not on the kick start shaft ? So I test fit the cover without it to see how much free play existed in this kick start shaft, result ? Plenty ! So off cam the cover and that outside washer put in place greased up. New kick start seal. All went together very nicely.
The engine turns freely still and the kick start (ebay found) seems great.
Engine is basically in storage now here indoors until the bike is ready for it 👍
