Chopped my 81 for my 70th birthday. Fired first try.
Since most bikes are viewed from the right side I hid things on the left. Like coil, horn, switches, XS1100 disc etc. On the right I put in a fake oil filler to make it look like a real tank. Handlebars are 71 special sawed shorter. Attached TCI (rubber mounted) to back of battery box. Rear brake stop attached in side and solenoid low on the front. Modified brake arms to work with pivot. Modified shift arm too. Plated seat and battery area with sheet metal for lighter weight than bar, strength, ease of mounting. 19”Avon speed master front and 16”rear (nice and tall since it’s the suspension). Top triple tree and risers aluminum. Forks 2” over to keep it level. Added fork brace, ran out of time to shave legs. 11/2” pipes with baffles in the ends.
Color is TropiCali flake and candy over black base on tank, fender, oil bag and batt box. Frame is sane over lighter base. All rattle can.
Runs and rides excellent. I’m happy.

I`m not really a hardtail person but you totally nailed it. No muffler`s and no gauges, just my style.:thumbsup:

Really well done @takehikes !
Very clean and nice lines.
A lot of small very tidy details to be seen.
Simple and sweet.
Love the way the tins and frame are connected by using the same color and altering the base coat to provide a slight contrast. Sharp.
Nice example what can be done with rattle cans.
Congratulations on your build.
Hope you get miles and miles of smiles.
